Daisy C. Abreu is the Deputy
Director of the Town Green Special Services District, where she manages the
organization's daily operations, external communications and publications. She
has fostered New Haven's
economic development and tourism by brainstorming, developing, and executing
promotional campaigns and public relations events. During her tenure, over 100
storefront businesses have opened in the District, creating jobs and career
opportunities for greater New Haven
residents.
The New Jersey native earned a bachelor's
degree in English from the University
of Hartford. She is
actively involved in New Haven's
future, most recently appointed by Mayor John DeStefano, Jr., to the New Haven
Redevelopment Agency. Daisy has also served on the Marketing Committee for The
New Haven Ten-Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness, the New Haven Trolley
Line Steering Committee, the city's Facade Improvement Committee, and the
Downtown Wooster Square Community Management Team.

Her accomplishments have been widely recognized. In 2006, Daisy received the New
Haven Business Times "Forty Under 40" award, and in 2007 graduated
from Leadership Greater New Haven, sponsored by the Greater New Haven Chamber
of Commerce. In 2009, Daisy was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Business New Haven.
