Water Wagon Sponsorship

Water Wagon with Clean Team Supervisor Judale Wynkoop

During the 2005 growing season, our clean team was out on the street 189 days, 6 hours a day, caring for our downtown planters and flowerbeds with over 4,357 waterings.  Currently, we use only our Town Green District pickup truck, which is equipped with a hose and two-hundred gallon water tank.  This system has numerous draw-backs. First, we are truck-less for the majority of the day during the busiest time of the year.  Our truck's first daily duty is to water the district, which means we are always scrambling to power-wash & steam-clean sidewalks, remove graffiti, and transport tables and chairs to various summer events.  The truck is also a nuisance to motorists - making frequent stops at intersections to water.

Watering a planter in Temple Street PlazaA hand-drawn watering wagon would allow us to more easily water those "hard to reach areas," most notably downtown’s high pedestrian and vehicular traffic areas, and will allow us to water our plants in a more environmentally responsible way.  Ultimately, we’ll be able to more effectively use our resources to provide more timely services to district members.   The plants will receive more attention, and downtown will bloom brighter.

Wouldn't you want your company's logo to be visible at New Haven' s busiest downtown intersections for the majority of each week day? E-mail Win for more details or download, complete and fax in the sponsorship form
