Getting To and From Union Station
It's just 7/10 of a mile (a little more than 1 km) from the New Haven train station to the center of downtown, and there are plenty of ways to make the jump.
|
By Foot
It's a flat, easy walk to the center of town - just ten blocks from the train station to our INFO New Haven location at College and Chapel streets. Quick & Dirty Directions: R out of station, L on Chapel St. Need more detail? Here you go: Turn right coming out of the train station and walk down Union Avenue. After three blocks Union Avenue turns into State Street; continue on State Street (it's faster if you take the left fork, walking in the opposite direction of traffic) another three blocks and turn left up Chapel Street. Go straight up Chapel for four blocks, passing the Green on your right, and you're there! |

By Bus
The J Bus stops right out front of the station and goes directly to the center of Downtown New Haven at the intersection of Church & Chapel streets. Adult fare is $1.25 each way with free transfers; people under 18 ride for $1, and kids under 5 ride for free.
