Blues, Berries, & Jam

From July 8th to August 26, New Haven has just the thing to get you through those summer Wednesdays: a farmer's market and blues concert series that will keep you in salad and smiles all week long.

July 8
Cobalt Rhythm Kings
A BB&J favorite, these guys are back for their sixth consecutive year to open the Festival right.
July 15
D.W. Armstrong
Back for his third year, CT singer D.W. Armstrong was voted blues band of the year (all by himself!) in 2001 by the CT Blues Society.
July 22 King for a Day
Powerhouse vocals from Danny Labich, Randy Funke on guitary, and strong rhythm from Benj LeFevre on bass and Kurt Bergland on drums. Check them out here
July 29
Greg Sharrod Band A longtime New England entertainer, this is Mr. Sherrod's second year at the festival. Check him out here.
Aug 5
Shiny Lapel Trio
One of our all time favorites is back. With a great big sound and a big ol’ slice of velvety smooth vocals, they can be  rippin’ thru a classic Louis Prima standard, or makin’ ya cry with a Nat King Cole classic.
Aug 12
Bluzberry Pi Also back for their 6th consecutive BBJ, Bluzberry Pi is a high-energy band that captures the raw intensity of roots rock and fuses it with blues and infectious rhythms guaranteed to get your feet tapping.
Aug 19
The Moody Blossom Band
Playing self-described "hillbilly stuff," this pair of longtime guitarists brings a little bit of open G tuning and slide gi-tar to the Festival.
Aug 26  The Langely Project Funk and Motown review: "The Langley Project’s has dual male/female lead vocals with one of the funkiest rhythm sections in the business to make all those songs come to life on stage." These guys will finish out the festival right.

City Seed Farmer's Market will run from 11 AM to 3 PM and the live blues music will begin at 12 noon and run until 2 PM. This is a free event!  So grab a seat on the Green, starting July 8, and get ready to jam in your city all summer long.
