Welcome to the Chapel West Special Services District!

The results of the several months of research and study have been published. Some of the more important recommendations were to apply to the City for Neighborhood Planning Agency status, expand the District boundaries, and to request that the City  enact a redevelopment plan for the area in order to allow the use of eminent domain powers in those areas not already covered by the Neighborhood Revitalization Zone.

 The District has already begun to carry out the plan recommendations. Neighborhood Planning Agency status has been requested and already granted by New Haven's Board of Aldermen. The Board of Aldermen has ratified a 30% expansion of the area served by the District. Several existing District property owners, including Yale and the Colony Inn have volunteered  to add additional properties to the District's tax rolls.Property owners on Park,Elm,and Lynwood Place are currently signing petitions to join the District.
