The Connecticut Department of Transportation is a great resource for trail maps all over the state. The Farmington Canal Trail is a great riding area very close to New Haven.
Our friends at the Devil's Gear Bike Shop (151 Orange St, in Pitkin Plaza) set up group rides in the area and would be happy to answer any of your questions on cycling in the New Haven Area.
