Town Green Special Services District

Town Green Special Services District

The Town Green Special Services District, authorized by the State of Connecticut and the City of New Haven, is an independent, special taxing district established through a popular vote of property owners in 1996 and recertified in 2000. Other states typically refer to our type of organization as a Business Improvement District (BID).

The Core Purpose of Town Green is to improve ownership values by making Downtown New Haven an internationally competitive urban environment in which to live, work, learn and play.

To accomplish its mission, the Town Green District operates major programs to keep Downtown clean, safe, attractive and appealing to Downtown residents, employees, students, tourists and other visitors.
