New Haven in the fall is pure magic. As the leaves turn fiery shades of red, orange, and gold, the city takes on a crisp, cozy energy that makes it perfect for exploring. Yale’s historic campus looks like a postcard with ivy-covered buildings framed by autumn foliage, and East Rock Park offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, especially at sunset.

It’s also the season for apple cider donuts, warm lattes, and comfort food at New Haven’s incredible restaurants. Outdoor patios stay open well into the season, with heat lamps keeping things cozy, and the city’s many cultural institutions (Think: the @yalepeabodymuseum & @yaleartgallery) offer the perfect indoor retreats on cooler days.

Whether you’re catching a show at the @shubertnewhaven or simply taking a stroll through Wooster Square under a canopy of golden leaves, fall in New Haven is really something special.

Game day in New Haven hits different when it’s Yale vs. Harvard, one of the longest-running and most storied rivalries in college football.

Their first matchup was in 1875, and ever since, “The Game” has been a centerpiece of Ivy League tradition and East Coast sports culture.

From legendary matchups to unforgettable moments at the Yale Bowl, this rivalry has shaped more than a century of football history. Pair that with tailgates, school pride, and the citywide energy that fills New Haven each fall, and you get an atmosphere unlike anything else. 🏈
