New Haven Cocktail Week Returns with Shakers, Stirrers, and a Whole Lot of Spirit
September in the Elm City comes with its own kind of magic – and this one’s served over ice. From September 7–13, New Haven Cocktail Week takes over the city with seven days of shaking, stirring, sipping, and celebrating. It’s part festival, part cocktail crawl, and all about showing off the talent and flavor that keep New Haven’s bar scene buzzing.
From Bar Chat to Big Deal
What started as a handful of local bars swapping ideas has become a citywide toast to mixology. Now, more than 30 venues, top bartenders, and national and international spirit brands join forces for tastings, seminars, signature menus, and nightlife events. It’s where creativity meets community – and everyone’s invited.
This Year’s Pour
Warm nights, music drifting through the streets, and bartenders at the top of their game. Expect exclusive menus, hands-on classes, and brand pop-ups across town. It all kicks off with the Spirits Ball at GIOIA – part tasting room, part dance floor – followed by a week of deep-dive seminars on flavor, history, and the perfect pour.
Fresh Faces in the Mix
New to the lineup: The Melting Pot, 116 Cocktail Bar by Hachiroku, Blue Tortuga, and The Crooked Goat. Map your route online so you can plan… or pleasantly “lose track.”
Your Game Plan
Check the schedule, grab tickets early for sellouts like the Spirits Ball, and mix reservations with walk-ins. Spread your must-visits across the week, and don’t just drink – talk. Bartenders’ tips might lead you to your new favorite spot.
Local Legends & Must-Try Drinks
Elm City Social – The Rubber Ducky: playful, photogenic, and delicious
Ordinary – Barrel-aged Stinger: smooth, rich, quietly legendary
Olives and Oil – Espresso martini flights that keep the night lively
The Owl Shop – Classic cigar-and-cocktail pairings done right
Whether you’re a seasoned sipper or just looking for an excuse to explore after dark, Cocktail Week is proof New Haven knows how to raise a glass – and keep the party flowing.
