This holiday season, downtown New Haven has a new reason to celebrate. Just beside the newly reopened Union League, a new favorite invites guests to savor the spirit of Paris – one pastry at a time.

Union League Pâtisserie is a collaboration between Alexander Clark, owner of Union League and ZINC, and Kimberly Pedrick, the curator behind idiom and dwell New Haven. The pâtisserie feels like a festive escape tucked into the heart of Chapel Street. “Our goal was to create a pâtisserie offering delicious pastries and beverages in a warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed setting,” says Pedrick.

Amid the city’s twinkling lights and winter bustle, Union League Pâtisserie feels like stepping into a Parisian postcard. Croissants emerge fresh from the oven each morning in plain, chocolate, and almond varieties, while canelés, apricot financiers, and elegant fruit tarts line the pastry case beside coffee roasted in France by Cafés Richard. Even the Orangina, served in its classic glass bottle, feels like a cheerful toast to the season.

For the holidays, the pâtisserie is debuting a pear tart and a signature apple cider, along with pre-order and gifting options perfect for dessert tables, hostess treats, or stocking stuffers.

Pedrick’s personal favorite, the lemon tart, remains a year-round highlight. “It’s bright, buttery, and perfectly balanced,” she says. “It captures everything we love about French pastry: simplicity, refinement, and joy.”

Like its sister restaurant, the pâtisserie reflects a shared philosophy of care and craft. “At both Union League and the pâtisserie, we focus on using the finest ingredients and taking great care in preparation and presentation,” Pedrick says. “Just as important is creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality, where every guest feels welcome and leaves with a memorable experience from start to finish.”
