New Haven Dragon Boat Festival
Saturday, October 3, 7 a.m.–4 p.m.
Canal Dock Boathouse, 475 Long Wharf Drive
Watch New Haven Harbor come alive as teams race across the water to the beat of drums at the annual New Haven Dragon Boat Festival. The centuries-old sport is built around teamwork and synchronization, and race day brings that spirit ashore with local teams, spirited competition and a waterfront full of spectators cheering them on.
New Haven Chalk Art Festival
Saturday, October 3, 12–4 p.m.
Broadway District (Broadway & Elm Streets)
Watch the sidewalks become canvases as artists create elaborate chalk works throughout the Broadway District. More than 60 professional and amateur artists, students and groups take part, giving visitors the chance to see the artwork develop throughout the afternoon, vote for their favorites and enjoy live music and family activities along the way.
New Haven Pride
Saturday, October 3, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Ninth Square (Orange & Crown Streets)
New Haven Pride takes over Orange and Crown streets for an afternoon of music, dancing, drag performances, local vendors, food and community. Hosted by Xiomarie LaBeija, this year’s celebration brings Pride into the heart of Downtown with live performances, a DJ circle, a Health & Wellness Village and plenty happening throughout the afternoon.
New Haven Night Market
Friday, October 9, 5–10 p.m.
Ninth Square (Orange & Crown Streets)
New Haven Night Market brings the city together for an evening of food, music, art, shopping and local culture in the Ninth Square District. Browse local makers and businesses, grab something to eat and experience Downtown when the streets fill with people for one of New Haven’s signature community events.
