Getting everyone to agree on dinner plans is practically a competitive sport. Someone wants Italian, someone else is craving something new, and at least one person will inevitably respond with “I’m good with whatever.” Three days and 47 messages later, nobody has made a reservation.

Consider this your reason to finally pick a date.

New Haven Restaurant Week returns November 1–14, giving everyone two weeks to explore the city’s restaurants. Participating restaurants will offer prix-fixe menus, including two-course lunches for $25 and three-course dinners for $45 or $55. It’s an invitation to revisit an old favorite, try the place you’ve been meaning to book, or simply make a Tuesday night feel a little more interesting.

There’s no one right way to do Restaurant Week. Make a lunch date of it, because a two-course lunch for $25 is a pretty convincing reason to step away from your desk. Browse the participating restaurant directory and consider somewhere you’ve walked past a dozen times but never tried. Turn dinner into an occasion: date night, birthday dinner, overdue reunion, or just because it’s Friday.

Participating restaurants may offer different menus and service periods, so take a look at the individual listings before heading out. Some may participate at lunch, others at dinner, and reservations are worth making in advance, especially if you’re bringing a crowd. Our Restaurant Week FAQs are also a handy place to start.

Fourteen days, plenty of possibilities, and one very good excuse to get everyone around the same table.
