Elm City’s Finest [2023]

On Saturday, October 14, the Shubert Theatre will present its second annual Elm City’s Finest, a very special performance series highlighting the amazing artists of the New Haven community. Last year’s inaugural event showcased talent from nearly every artistic form—music, dance, spoken word, visual art, and more. In the spirit of accessibility and community togetherness, the event is built on a “pay what you wish” system, requiring a minimum of $10 per ticket, but inviting attendees to support to whatever degree they can. New Haven Chalk Art Festival [2023]

On October 21, local artists will convene in Downtown for the annual New Haven Chalk Art Festival. Taking place from 12-4 PM at The Shops at Yale, the day will be one marked by live music, impressive art, and family-friendly entertainment. New Haven Pride 2023

Drum roll, please. New Haven Pride will return to the Elm City on September 23! The annual block party will take place on Orange and Crown Streets from 12 – 6pm and feature small businesses, community members, and an all LGBTQ+ roster of performing talent. Organized by the The New Haven Pride Center – one of Connecticut’s leading LGBTQ+ non profits and the only organization focused on LGBTQ+ representation in the arts – the local-loved annual event creates a space to empower Greater New Haven LGBTQIA+ individuals to thrive and uplift each other.

New Haven Grand Prix 2023

September 15 Connecticut’s most anticipated cycling event returns for its 13th year on September 15, featuring a twilight bike race, a lively street festival featuring the city’s best food vendors, and live music from talented local artists. If you’re racing, don’t forget to stretch. If you’re spectating, the beer garden and Apizza feast open at 4:00 PM.

13th Annual Closer to Free Ride

September 9 Another opportunity to race, this time for a great cause, this race welcomes riders of all levels and fuels necessary research and life preserving care at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital. The race features five routes ranging in distance, from 10 miles to 100 miles long! Additionally, racers are invited to free ride along their own route either in-person or remotely.

New Haven Night Market Fall 2023

The New Haven Night Market returns to downtown on Saturday, September 30. This popular event shines a light on downtown small businesses, amazing food, and talented performers. Come for an evening, leave with a drink, some street eats, and unique finds from vendors.

46th Annual Faxon Law New Haven Road Race

September 4 Taking place on Labor Day, the event will welcome racers and walkers alike to five different races: the 20k, the Half Marathon, the 5k, the Half Marathon Relay, and the Kids Fun Run. All of these races begin at the New Haven Green, the Kids Fun Run at 8:10 AM, and all other races at 8:30 AM.
