Consider this the bar crawl’s glow up. From September 13–19, New Haven Cocktail Week brings more than 35 bars and restaurants together for a week-long celebration of the city’s cocktail culture.
The best cocktails have always been about more than what’s in the glass. They’re equal parts technique, hospitality, and storytelling, and New Haven Cocktail Week puts that craftsmanship front and center. Expect inventive seasonal ingredients, fresh takes on the classics, locally inspired creations, and bartenders who are just as happy to explain the “why” behind a drink as they are to make it.
The week kicks off Sunday, September 13, with the Spirits Ball at Gioia Café & Bar. From noon–3 p.m., guests can sample spirits from this year’s brand sponsors, talk shop with industry experts, and enjoy passed snacks before the afterparty. Tickets are $65 and include tastings, a New Haven Cocktail Week tasting glass, sponsored swag, and admission to the afterparty. Specialty cocktails will also be available at a cash bar.
Throughout the week, participating venues will host ticketed seminars and other special events designed to bring guests closer to the craft behind the cocktail. Meet the people shaping New Haven’s beverage scene, learn from industry experts, and discover just how much creativity goes into every pour.
Cocktail Week is also an invitation to try something different. Order the drink you wouldn’t normally choose, ask the bartender why it works, or sign up for a seminar and learn something new. Whether you prefer shaken, stirred, spirit-forward, or something completely unexpected, there’s plenty to discover.
